Does the transitioning start from the date of your last relaxer?? I havent had my hair relaxed since Sept 09' I usually get two perms a year so I figure I shouldnt be so bad off. I was never really big on heat so once my hair was straight I wouldnt touch it for about two or three weeks..My hair is healthy although I need my ends clipped, it's soft and it doesnt have straight parts it's all pretty well blended and wavy. What products are you guys using that really work for you?? What products should I stay away from?? Is there anyone Growing their hair out??
TRANSITIONING Woot Woot!!
Last Relaxed 9/2009 No BC for me I'm GROWING it out!!!

My last relaxer was in December. I've always wanted my hair curly and for the life of me I don't know why I kept relaxing!! (probably because I was scared of breakage) Now I'm done for good :)

I use [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Knot-Today-p-207.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-knot-today-leaveindetangler]Kinky Curly Knot Today[/buylink] as a leave in. Occasionally I use Aussie Moist but it doesn't work as well as my [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Knot-Today-p-207.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-knot-today-leaveindetangler]KCKT[/buylink].

Transitioning is great but it's such a hassle! And I can't get these darn twists to stay twisted lol

I definitely understand where you are coming from, I am having trouble with my hair right now that I switched over to the CG method. I think I did it wrong though..Im going to use my old shampoo one more time to remove the gunk my old conditioner left in my hair then condition & deep condition then style. I really want to try Kinky Curly, I will be making a few purchases from them in the near future. Thanks for your advice.

I was gonna say the same thing. Aussie Moist was a God's send when I transitioned. I also like Lustrasilk Shea Butter from Sally's & Herbal Essence's Hello Hydration.

I'm growing my hair out too. I'm gonna try to go 2yrs but if I can't stand to wait any longer, then I'll shorten it down to 1 yr or so. I've also been trying to stay away from any products that have mineral oil, petroleum, parabens and sulfates. The products I love to use are Hello Hydration and Organix Coconut Milk. You can never go wrong with both of those!
/COLOR]Hair type[/COLOR][COLOR=black: Kind of hard to say; might fall into the 3c/4a categories?

I second the Lustrasilk shea butter. Some days, that's all I need, and it's the only product I can consistently return to.

I would definetly advise you to look into the Giovanni products they work wonders even the shampoo, the only down fall i see is that it can be pricey but well worth it, its all natural and when looking for good products you should go for the ones that are as natural as possible. I started my transition at the end of september too =) and I'm growing my hair out.

I third the Lustrasilk (can you "third" something??) & I love love love Fruitopia Silk & Shine conditioner. It's basically the same as Garnier Sleek & Shine, just cheaper. But I'm no longer CG either.

i've tried carol's daughter ... good but not great ... i've also tried avalon and it falls under the same category. both of these products contain alcohols which made my hair feel dry after a few hours. so alcohols are a no-no (unless they are cetyl or stearyl which are actually good). so i was looking around on here and i went to product reviews and saw reviews for komaza ... it had pretty high ratings and it didn't contain any ingredients i would consider bad (petrolatum, petroleum, mineral oil, silicones, sulfates, glycols) so i decided to give it a try! let me tell you ... i'm in love! this stuff keeps my hair soft and moisturized and smelling amazing for like 24 hours! also defined my 3c/4a curls so well! definitely recommend :)
